Generative workshop: New projects

$80/Hour, custom timeframes

  • Intake conversation to flesh out your vision and timeframe, get a sense of your sources of inspiration, brainstorm possibilities, collaborate to generate writing prompts and directions for your project, and address any concerns and questions you have going into this generative workshop.

  • Once a timeframe and schedule is decided: Weekly or bi-weekly conversations/critique via Skype where new work is due and prior work is discussed. This duration can be customized according to your needs. I am open to working with you for 3-12 months on an ongoing project, and am willing to work with you to help you achieve your goals.

  • Collaborative focus on developing work for a new book/chapbook/project/series. We will both focus on the whole project as well as the individual pieces/elements as you go, helping you shape a project that is chapbook or book-length, finding connective tissue between pieces as we work, with an emphasis on your vision and goals, as well as finding successful models of published works that serve as templates as well as inspiration.

  • PROJECT REVISION: Once a rough manuscript is in place, looking closely at organization, theme, layout, and helping fine-tune the writing. This would involve me spending several weeks with the manuscript as a whole, making detailed marginalia and workshop letters and having an in-depth debrief at the end with comprehensive workshop letter and collaborative workshopping. I would also be happy to help you think about where to submit this project at the end if you're interested in working with small presses or submitting to contests, or talk about options if you're more interested in self-publishing.
